Disappearing World

Disappearing World,
I remember rehearsing the track in maybe 1984 in my mums tiny kitchen in her flat in Langdale rd., New Brighton…they may or may not put one of those blue plaques to celebrate the fact but our American management team were there ..Francine Rudd and Greg Allen and our actual manager Rolling Stones publicist Mr Charles Comer and his driver Eric all really digging this track..I remember Eric’s face in particular as he sort of bopped along to it..great great man….I think they all had very good taste ..this is one of my all time fav’s and the way The Other Side interpreted my wacky idea is great credit to all of them..rehearsing that day probably were

Kev Roberts ..keyboards
Max Beckham ..Drums
Paul Madden ..guitar
Steve Barrett ..bass
David Barrett…singer

Now that’s six people in a really tiny kitchenette…plus equipment…my mum Betty was such a great hostess and all would have had tea and toast…
The song is just saying…we are all responsible for this planets welfare and the flora and fauna that share this amazing planet with us..probably since the track was written over thirty years ago all sorts of wonderful creatures and plants have disappeared but we have it within our power to halt the decline….
It saddens me more than I can say to see rhino killed for their horns or elephants for their tusks or sharks for their fins and a million and one other abuses of the animal kingdom…maybe if the track ever achieves any sort of success we should commit to donating money towards wildlife protection ….Max Beckham’s iconic artwork will feature heavily in any promotion of this song…the two were made for eachother..

with all of life and the world for free …
shouldn’t we … be ashamed … I’m so ashamed …

Animals not there to see …
Who can take…take the blame …
We’re all to blame …

Disappearing World …
Disappearing World …

We take their lives and fail to see …
How their beauty used to be …
I’m so ashamed …

But in out hearts .. we should know …
without love …where can we go …
I’m so ashamed …

Disappearing World …
Disappearing World …

They live and breathe …
They live and breathe …
They live and breathe …
They live and breathe …

Animal so beautiful …

They live and breathe …
They live and breathe …
They live and breathe …
They live and breathe …
